Products That Have Helped Us!
I wanted to share a few products that we actually use in our own home and have been really helpful for our family’s regulation and day-to-day needs. Every child (and nervous system) is different, but these have made a noticeable difference for us, and I know how hard it can be to find things that truly help.
I’m sharing them in case they might be useful for your family too—not because anyone needs to buy anything, but because sometimes seeing what’s worked for another parent can save a lot of trial and error.

OraNurse Unflavoured Toothpaste - 50ml Pack of 3
This toothpaste is amazing for children who struggle to brush their teeth due to the texture, taste and foam of regular toothpaste. It is unflavoured and has a mild formula so there is no burning sensation, no foaming inside the mouth as they brush, no taste of mint but has everything needed in it to keep their teeth clean and healthy. My son went from having a daily battle with his teeth to brushing everyday.
Nutrigen Vitamixin Sprinkles
We have been using these vitamins for over a year. They are tasteless, odourless, and do not change the colour or texture of the food. They mix in food very well as a white powder and are amazing for children who have texture and sensory food sensitivities. They provide all the vitamins and minerals your children need so that you can worry less about the fact that all they have eaten every night that week is chicken nuggets.

With this Visual Timetable, you have options depending on what you need. You can purchase a

When I purchased I had the felt board with no cards as I wanted to make my own but if you want to have pre-made cards that is an option. They help with Now & Next and using them to express what they would like. The felt is very strong and durable and can either be hung on a wall or door as one whole board or folded to sit on a desk or shelf.
2 Piece Bath Cap
For children who hate the sound and whole experience of drying their hair after a bath/shower. I couldn't recommend these anymore than I do! They are so soft, so comfortable and super absorbent. They are made from microfibre and one size fits all. They come as a pack of two and you get one pink bear and one blue. I use one at home and one for after swimming lessons and they keep all my daughters wet hair off her neck and the hat absorbs majority of the moisture so I never have to use a hairdryer on her head - even in the winter.
Govvee Starlight Projector
I tried a few lights for their bedrooms like disco balls and twinkle lights and this one is by far my favourite. You can personalise the colours to their preference and then save it as a default. You can have or not have stars showing and the range of colours is vast. They look to me like the northern lights. My eldest prefers all red with stars, whereas my youngest changes her mind every night. It is so simple with the app that it doesn't matter how often she changes it. It plays white noise with different sounds such as waves, birds, trees etc;
Vanderfields Premium Hearing Protection Ear Muffs
Noise cancelling ear defenders. A life saver for the classroom and for whenever you need to leave the house. I love this brand because they are perfect size for my 5 year old who is quite tiny and you can have designs like these ones shown; Dinosaur, Unicorn, Monster Truck. You can also get plain colours for the older children. Used everyday in my home!
4 Piece Divided Dinner Plates - 8.6inch
So my daughter is very selective in her food, what she eats and how it is presented. She does not like her food to touch. These plates were perfect for her. Big enough for her portions as she's 5 years old. She likes to pick her colour plate and it keeps her food and her dip exactly how she likes it - apart.
Set of 2 - Verbal Communication Bands
These are great for children who struggle to communicate when they are struggling. They are silicone, rubber bands. Soft on the skin and stretchable. When they are out of the house or even at school, they can simply turn the band onto the red or green side to let anyone who needs to know, if they are ok. These worked wonders for my children at school.
5 Pack - Sensory Chew Necklace
Great for the children who sensory seek by chewing. They come on a smooth cord with a breakaway clasp. The silicone chew is food grade safe and non toxic. Comes in a variety of colours so they can choose their favourite and very durable!
Rechargeable Silent Vibrating Watch
This was the best thing I ever bought for my son. You can set up to 15 alarms on this watch. It vibrates silently and reminded him to go to the bathroom regularly. It worked for when he was at school and distracted in his environment, it made sure he went to the toilet often enough to prevent embarrassing accidents at school. It looks like a normal digital watch so to anyone who asked, it was just a watch so it kept it discreet. This could also be used to remind the user to take medication.

Nesti Compression Pod
The Nesti Compression Pod is amazing for children who struggle to settle or stay asleep. It applies a gentle compression similar to a cuddle for the child that uses it. It's soft, breathable and temperature regulating and perfect for soothing the child into a calm sleep. My children struggle to settle and stay asleep at night and this has been amazing for them to sleep at night.
